BEACHES
The protected waters of our Lagoon and the lagoon-side Poortjies Beach lie within an easy 5 minutes walk from Thanda Vista, while Plett's fine swimming beaches are all just a short drive away.

 | Poortjies Beach
Just 300 metres from our front door, the lagoon-side Poortjies Beach is a perfect, quiet spot for relaxing, bird watching and safe, wave-free swimming. Toilet facilities are available.

 | Central Beach
Often the busiest beach in Plett, with life guards on duty in season. Facilities include restaurants, bars and public toilets.

 | Robberg Beach
This Blue Flag Beach stretches for kilometres between the Robberg Peninsula and the Beacon Island. Facilities include public toilets and various parking areas.

CANOEING ON THE KEURBOOMS RIVER
 | Rent a canoe in the Keurbooms River Nature Reserve - laze your way up river between high craggy rocks and deep verdant forest. Also a perfect opportunity for birding (the Garden Route has nearly 300 bird species).

HIKES
 | Robberg Nature Reserve
The Robberg Peninsula is a unique nature reserve and national monument that lies just south of Plettenberg Bay, offering spectacular views of the bay. Robberg offers a choice of three circular routes of increasing difficulty and distance. The round trip via the Point takes about four hours and hikers will have a good chance of seeing seals, dolphins, whales and sharks.

 | Tsitsikamma National Park
Where the booming breakers of the Indian Ocean relentlessly pound rocky shores, where temperate high forest and fynbos roll down to the sea in an unspoilt verdant carpet, where ancient rivers carve their paths to the ocean down rocky ravines. This, "the place of much water", is the Tsitsikamma Section of the Garden Route National Park. The heartland of the park stretches some 5km to sea, protecting a wonderland of inter-tidal life, reef and deep-sea fish. Hikes range from short ambles to day walks and the famous 5 day Otter Trail.
